“The Power of We” Blog Action Day 2012
The Power of We is a celebration of people working together to make a positive difference in the world, either for their own communities or for people they will never meet half way around he world.
For my contribution to #BAD12 I want to highlight the amazing woman, Serena Star Leonard. I discovered Serena last summer when I picked up her book; “How to Retire in 12 Months.” This was the book that inspired me to launch Platform of Women.
Over time I discovered Serena is so very approachable, generous with her time and energy, and one of the most giving souls I know.
Along with her husband, John, she set off to South America to make documentaries about people and organisations making a difference in their communities. On this journey, Serena shares these amazing stories with us. Including the story of Oscar, who has dedicated his life to educating the kids in the slums; giving them a chance of a better life.
Her story, How Can We Help, she highlights how we can make simple donations to build a school in Columbia, for these kids. Oscar and his team only need $7000. That’s it. Just $7000.
