Travelling is one of my favourite things to do. Overseas, interstate or a simple staycation – it doesn’t matter.
One of the things I love the most is the amazing people from other places.
I also love travelling because it usually means hotel sleep overs; BIG Love! I also love the little extras that come with it: the point folded toilet paper, the mints of the plush pillows, mini bars filled with candy bars and I also love meeting the staff, especially the housekeeping staff.
On this trip I’ve met the wonderful, Ye. Ye is one of the happiest people I’ve ever met. Each morning, when she arrives to service the room, we have some great chats, and it’s from these chats I’ve discovered the following; Ye and her husband immigrated to DC in 2001 when he was transferred here for work; Ye used to be a seamstress back in China; and they have no children. She said it is too late for her to have children, but she is happy because she has her friends.
Ye, and her happy disposition helps make the start to my day a happy one.
